Finally listing my deals on my trip

18 06 2009

Okay, I finally sat down to list my deals I got on my recent trip to the west coast. All in all including the post several below, we saved about 1,000bucks!
1) http://www.rosicrucianmuseum.com
If have time to kill in San Jose, I highly recommend this museum. We got the AAA discount of 1.00 off the adult admission, and the senior discount price is 7.00. (senior 60+)
2) San Jose Rose gardens: Free admission, plus free parking if you can find it on the curbs. Gorgeous gardens, but it was not blooming season yet.
3)Arena Hotel, if you can tolerate older rooms/older furniture/AC, this is a cute quaint place to stay. Who can beat AAA discount, free breakfast/dinner, free internet service, free internet printing, onsite laundromat, and free cookies!!!? It is also next to a CVS for convenience.
4)If ever you are travelling to San Francisco, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND flying to San Jose airport and/or staying in San Jose. It is a convenient drive to SF for a day trip. Plus, the San Jose airport is smaller and has free wifi unlike other airports.
5)In Pier 39 out of SF, if you show your AAA card, you can get a discount book from the tourist center. We got our 25% off buffet from this. We also got our parking ticket validated plus an obscure pamphlet coupon for 2hrs parking. WE SAVED 50% from parking fees out of this thank goodness!

LAS VEGAS:
Of course there are many deals for Vegas, but I’ll list stuff I found.
1)If you want an ice cream fix, the Imperial Palace casino dessert place sells Dreyer’s ice cream at 1.50/serving from 2pm to 4pm. The scoops are HUGE so one scoop is literally a bowl of ice cream.
2)On Orbitz and perhaps others, they have bonuses if you purchase show tickets from there. The Steve Wyrick magic show we went to, orbitz gave us free drink coupons so we were able to get pina coladas that would have cost us 8 bucks.
3)Keep on the lookout for AAA discounts: we got a coupon book from Miracle Mile Shops for our AAA discount.
